Pomperaug Wood's lifecare contract includes access to the Health Center for short-term stays as well as permanent residency if needed. The new Health Center at Pomperaug Woods is dedicated to providing high quality personalized health care designed to meet your specific needs. Unlike other retirement communities throughout the state, our Health Center is fully Medicare-Certified. This means you will not have to waive your right for Medicare coverage,* which could cover many costs associated with your care including meals, medicine, housing, therapy and more. Our individualized programs provide services in short-term rehabilitation, or recuperation following surgery, an illness, or an accident, as well as those in need of long-term skilled nursing care. Short-Term Rehabilitation
The Health Center at Pomperaug offers short-term rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapies. These therapies are offered for those who no longer need the services of an acute care hospital, but who are still in need of intensive services before they can return home. We will develop a treatment plan customized for you and provide you with a comfortable setting to help you return to wellness.

We also provide individualized treatment for patients who may need a multi-faceted rehabilitation program, and who may also suffer from complications from chronic conditions. Our mission is clear – to return patients to the comforts of their own home.

Our uniquely designed private and semi-private rooms are comfortable, sunny and spacious. (Our rooms have TVs, phones, bathrooms, etc.). For families and residents, our newly renovated Health Center offers many spacious and attractive common and private areas to socialize, including two private entry gardens.
