Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program with an active certification.
  • Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
  • Registration with State registry required.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Follows verbal and written instructions.
  • Document care that was provided to residents.
  • Work in close proximity to domestic pets such as dogs, cats, birds, etc.

Description

The Food and Beverage Assistant Director is responsible for the overall operation, coordination, appearance and maintenance of all dining areas, ensuring that courteous, efficient services are delivered which meet all sanitary requirements as well as Federal and State Regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in “front of the house operations” within restaurant, hotel, club or similar institution.
  • Serve Safe Certification required.
  • Experience in food service operations of a health care setting preferred but not required.
  • C.D.M. (Certified Dietary Manager) certification must be achieved after employment.
  • Prefer Post-Secondary Education in hospitality management or dining room operations.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Social Skills in order to work effectively with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other outside contacts.
  • Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.

Description

The R.N. Staff Nurse is responsible for providing resident care according to Pomperaug Woods’ policies and procedures and all state/federal regulations. Primary job functions include administrating medications, providing treatments, and documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in quality improvement audits. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES program.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current valid Connecticut nursing license.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment during emergency situations.
  • Read and calculate medication dosages frequently.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, written), show compassion and maintain professionalism
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times with confidential data such as resident personal and medical records, etc.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Works well independently and/or as part of a team.

Description

The Dining Services Hostess is responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Director with the overall operation, coordination, appearance, and maintenance of all of the Independent dining areas.  Provides the supervision necessary to ensure that the staff delivers courteous and efficient service to the residents; and ensure the food presentation meets our high standards of quality.

Qualifications

  • Communicate efficiently in English, using proper grammar, in a pleasant manner.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently.  To document reservations, take written food orders in person and by phone.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience at an intermediate level required.
  • Light to moderate physical effort required for about 90% of the work shift.  Must stand and walk 90% of the work shift; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 35 pounds independently.
