Description

The Certified Nurse’s Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods hospitality standards.

Qualifications

Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program with an active certification.

Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.

Registration with State registry required.
Follows written and verbal instructions.

Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Document care that was provided to residents.

Description

The Clinical Admissions Liaison is responsible for establishing a strong business presence with target audiences including but not limited to: Acute Care providers, physicians, and others as identified within geographic area to build awareness of Pomperaug Woods and its services. The CAL is responsible for developing and meeting the community’s sales and occupancy levels in accordance with the marketing plan. He or she matches Pomperaug Woods’ capabilities to patient needs and facilitates patient flow from Acute Care providers into Pomperaug Woods to meet or exceed occupancy goals.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN preferred licensure in the state of Connecticut.

Minimum five years of recent clinical experience.
Valid driver’s license.

Case management experience.

Must read, write and speak the English language.

Experience in business/development preferred.

Prior experience in utilization review or discharge planning preferred.

Description

Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes.

Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes.

Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.

Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.

Checks all food items during production for taste, smell, appearance and temperature.

Practices proper food handling techniques.

Other Duties:

Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.

Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.

Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualities

Education: High School degree or equivalent. Culinary Degree preferred.

Work Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.

Skills/Certification: Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet. Able to organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.

Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.

Description

The Fitness Manager/Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the Fitness Center and overseeing the fitness programs in the community. The Wellness Coordinator assists the Community Life Services Director with other activities and programs in the community. The Wellness Coordinator is innovative, brings new programs to community for residents and works independently.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in exercise science/exercise physiology OR licensed PT, PTA.

Current ACSM or current NCCA-accredited, health-fitness related certifications (e.g. ACE, NCSF, NSCA, Cooper Institute)

Certification or specialization in senior fitness/strength training and group exercise

RN Baylor works 24 hours and is paid for 32 as a weekend incentive.

Description

Provides care to residents according to each resident’s individualized plan of care, and according to facility policies and procedures.

Directs and monitors nursing staff to ensure compliance to resident plan of care.

Makes scheduling adjustments as needed.

Communicates in a positive and effective manner.

Maintains accurate documentation

Performs resident assessments in a timely and accurate manner.

Performs shift reports in an accurate and efficient manner.

Rounds at least twice a shift to assure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment.

Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in resident’s condition.

Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.

Ensures adequate staffing.

Administers direct care as necessary
