The Certified Nurse’s Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods hospitality standards.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program with an active certification.
  • Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
  • Registration with State registry required.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Document care that was provided to residents.
  • Work in close proximity to domestic pets such as dogs, cats, birds, etc.

Description

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting Community property. Leads efforts in emergency situations until authorities are on site. Regularly assists with light maintenance requests, such as changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, cleaning up spills and garbage removal and other such items.

Qualifications

  • Communicate efficiently in English, using proper grammar, and in a pleasant manner.
  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying items occurs throughout the day.

Description

The Food and Beverage Assistant Director is responsible for the overall operation, coordination, appearance and maintenance of all dining areas, ensuring that courteous, efficient services are delivered which meet all sanitary requirements as well as Federal and State Regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in “front of the house operations” within restaurant, hotel, club or similar institution.
  • Serve Safe Certification required.
  • Experience in food service operations of a health care setting preferred but not required.
  • C.D.M. (Certified Dietary Manager) certification must be achieved after employment.
  • Prefer Post-Secondary Education in hospitality management or dining room operations.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Social Skills in order to work effectively with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other outside contacts.
  • Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
  • Interpret and explain menus, answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
  • Communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • Experience with performing clinical assessments on residents, meeting with Care Plan Team, performing input on MDS preferred.
  • Read, write and speak fluently in English.

The Country Café Attendant is responsible for the overall operation of the store and Café, the preparation and production of food items, providing service to the Residents, operation and reconciliation of the cash register, general appearance, inventory control and sanitary condition of the store.

Qualifications

  • Interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications and standards consistently.
  • Understand measurements and conversions.
  • Certified in Foodservice sanitation by an accredited establishment, or willing to become certified after hire.
  • Complete tasks accurately in a fast paced environment.
  • Speaks, reads, writes fluently in English
  • Communicates effectively and performs simple arithmetic.

The Utility Worker performs a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dish washing, and general cleaning duties; storing food and non-food supplies.

Qualifications

  • Properly operate dish washing equipment after being trained.
  • Standing and walking 100% of the work day.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Pushing, and pulling carts weighing up to 100 lbs. independently.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, and balancing frequently throughout the work day.
  • Exposures to quick variance of hot and cold temperatures, from ovens and freezers.
  • Frequently handle industrial cleaning chemicals, and hot water temperatures.
  • Speak, read and write in English.
