Description

The Certified Nurse’s Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods hospitality standards.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program with an active certification.
  • Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
  • Registration with State registry required.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Document care that was provided to residents.

Shifts Available

Full-Time Baylor Weekends 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (work 23 hours get paid for 32 hours)

Description

The R.N. Baylor Nurse is responsible for providing resident care according to Pomperaug Woods’ policies and procedures and all state/federal regulations. Primary job functions include administrating medications, providing treatments, and documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in quality improvement audits. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES program.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current valid Connecticut nursing license.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment during emergency situations.
  • Read and calculate medication dosages frequently.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, written), show compassion and maintain professionalism
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times with confidential data such as resident personal and medical records, etc.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Works well independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Constant walking or standing 50% and sitting 50% of the time, frequent pushing, pulling reaching bending kneeling.

Shifts

Full-time – rotating schedule that includes days, early evenings and weekends.

Description

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the overall planning and implementation of varied activity programs designed to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of Health Center residents.

Qualifications

  • Communicate efficiently, using proper grammar, in a pleasant manner.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience at an intermediate level required.
  • Light to moderate physical effort required for about 90% of the work shift. Must stand and walk 90% of the work shift; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 35 pounds independently.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently.

Description

The Driver is responsible for the timely and safe transporting of residents to various individual locations such as doctor appointments, dining, shopping, etc. Assists those he/she transports with wheelchair and walker storage on the vehicle, loading and unloading items purchased or other items.

Qualifications

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule. Keep vehicles clean.
  • Communicate efficiently in, using proper grammar, and in a pleasant manner.
  • Must have a good driving record and an active, valid, driver license.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
