The Certified Nurse’s Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods hospitality standards.


Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program with an active certification.

Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.

Registration with State registry required.
Follows written and verbal instructions.

Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Document care that was provided to residents.

Part-time, 1st & 2nd shifts

The L.P.N. is responsible for providing resident care according to PW policies and procedures and all state/federal regulations. Primary job functions include administrating medications, providing treatments, and documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in quality improvement audits, models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES. Performs other duties as assigned.


Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current valid Connecticut nursing license.

Read, write and speak English fluently.

Geriatric nursing experience preferred.

Demonstrate sound judgment during emergency situations.

Read and calculate medication dosages frequently.

Communicate effectively (verbal, written), show compassion and maintain professionalism

Maintain confidentiality at all times with confidential data such as resident personal and medical records, etc.

Strong time management and organizational skills

Works well independently and/or as part of a team.

Constant walking or standing 50% and sitting 50% of the time, frequent pushing, pulling reaching bending kneeling.


Full-time, 8:00am – 4pm, Monday – Friday

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary and aesthetically comfortable environment in the health center, common areas and apartments.


Standing and walking 100% of the work day.

Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs. independently.

Pushing, and pulling carts weighing up to 100 lbs. independently.

Bending, stooping, reaching, and balancing frequently throughout the work day.

Frequently handle industrial cleaning chemicals.

Speak, read and write in English.

The Server/AM Coordinator is responsible for coordinating service for the day, guiding servers to provide upscale, restaurant style, table service in the dining rooms.


Experience waiting tables and as a host/hostess required with experience in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred.

Set up service operations for the day and coordinate with the serving staff.

Interpret and explain menu items, answer questions about the menu and ingredients in the menu items, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.

Work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers with courtesy, tact and graciousness.

Read, write, and speak English fluently.


Part-time, Midnight – 8am, Saturday & Sunday

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting Community property. Leads efforts in emergency situations until authorities are on site. Regularly assists with light maintenance requests, such as changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, cleaning up spills and garbage removal and other such items.


Communicate efficiently in English, using proper grammar, and in a pleasant manner.

High School diploma preferred.

Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying items occurs throughout the day.
