Description

The Certified Nurse’s Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods hospitality standards.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program with an active certification.
  • Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
  • Registration with State registry required.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Document care that was provided to residents.

Shifts Available

Full-Time Baylor Weekends 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (work 23 hours get paid for 32 hours)

Description

The R.N. Baylor Nurse is responsible for providing resident care according to Pomperaug Woods’ policies and procedures and all state/federal regulations. Primary job functions include administrating medications, providing treatments, and documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in quality improvement audits. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES program.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current valid Connecticut nursing license.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment during emergency situations.
  • Read and calculate medication dosages frequently.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, written), show compassion and maintain professionalism
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times with confidential data such as resident personal and medical records, etc.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Works well independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Constant walking or standing 50% and sitting 50% of the time, frequent pushing, pulling reaching bending kneeling.

Shifts Available

Full-Time day shift, predominantly weekdays, with an on-call rotation

Description

The R.N. Designee provides services in accordance with agency policies. Prepares clinical progress notes, assists the physician and the supervisor of assisted living services, prepares equipment and materials for treatment and assists the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques. The RN provides nursing care to assigned clients under the direction of the Supervisor of Assisted Living Services. Performs nursing care as defined within the Nurse Practice Act and stated agency policy and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Active Connecticut nursing license.
  • 2 years of full-time clinical nursing experience
  • 1 year of home health care experience or at a long term care community with care of the sick at home
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Geriatric nursing experience preferred.

Description

The Dining Services Hostess is responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Director with the overall operation, coordination, appearance, and maintenance of all of the Independent dining areas. Provides the supervision necessary to ensure that the staff delivers courteous and efficient service to the residents; and ensure the food presentation meets our high standards of quality.

Qualifications

  • Communicate efficiently in English, using proper grammar, in a pleasant manner.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently. To document reservations, take written food orders in person and by phone.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience at an intermediate level required.
  • Light to moderate physical effort required for about 90% of the work shift. Must stand and walk 90% of the work shift; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 35 pounds independently.

Part-Time, 12 noon – 8:30pm, approximately 27 hours per week, rotating schedule of weekdays and weekends

Description

The Utility Worker performs a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dish washing, and general cleaning duties; storing food and non-food supplies.

Qualifications

  • Properly operate dish washing equipment after being trained.
  • Standing and walking 100% of the work day.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Pushing, and pulling carts weighing up to 100 lbs. independently.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, and balancing frequently throughout the work day.
  • Exposures to quick variance of hot and cold temperatures, from ovens and freezers.
  • Frequently handle industrial cleaning chemicals, and hot water temperatures.
  • Speak, read and write in English.

Shifts

Full-Time – 37½ hours a week, 3-4 days a week and every other weekend, 11:30am – 7:30pm
